Record speed at CFR! A train has exceeded 200 km per hour
Everything happened in a building near the railway polygon Faurei. Experimental line will be used by manufacturers to test cars and locomotives. November we have to wait at least five years until we operate with a speed that country. Railway men have used for an experiment electric locomotive house for 30 years and a reconditioned car. Together are the only that can exceed 200 kilometers per hour. Not a usual line, because we do not have anything yet in Romania, but on a particular ring railway of 14 km long. Even if looks like a trite line is a jewel-engineered, unique in Eastern Europe.
Polygon of attempts to Faurei cost ten million euros and was built in record time. It was needed something because we have more factories, cars and locomotives that had no where to test their production.
The train made several successful tours and excited everyone. Heads of Department of Transportation say that we will go by train at sea and the mountains with only 200 km by 2013.
After threatened for a week to Friday to stop work for six hours Thursday they changed their minds: trade unionists from CFR seem to have fallen at peace with the Ministry of Transport. Protest has been postponed. Minister of Transport he has promised she\'ll discuss problems in the railways at the first meeting of the Government next week. More specifically will present an emergency ordinance which provides for the release from the state budget the amounts requested by the unions. It is about a few hundred million RON. Of this money can be made for emergency interventions in lines, culverts and macazuri. But this is only the immediate problem. The railways should be restructured because in the present form is not profitable. Trade unionists have promised to await the outcome of the discussions and if the answers will not be those expected, the history of protest announced for tomorrow could be repeated and the next week.
